A chat about fashion with Takako

We love fashion and talking to people in the industry, people like Takako.

Takako graduated from the prestigious Bunka Fashion College. After having completed her studies, she worked in the fashion industry for seven years in Tokyo. This year, she left Japan and went to Los Angeles to work with a renowned creative director, who she always dreamed of working with.

Besides being talented, Takako is very friendly. Check out our chat …

1. Why did you choose to study fashion?

I was surrounded by art and loved creating something 3-D since I was small, so I naturally started moving in fashion.

2. What do like the most about making clothes?

There are thousands of ways to make clothes and you can choose whatever you think best. The most important thing is to create beautiful and comfortable clothes. I like it because I can be very flexible to learn so many things every single day.

3. What is your opinion of Japanese fashion?

We still have a lot of fashion eccentrics in Tokyo, but we used to have more in 1980’s, I just would love them to come back sometime soon!

4. Who are your favorite designers in Japan and abroad?

Akira Naka, Akihiko Kimura, Rozae Nichols, Martin Churba, Marjan Pejoski, Victor&Rolf and more!
